The fact that the specific character of insurance liabilities and their performance characteristics stipulate a special approach to maintenance of an adequate level of insurance company’s solvency is motivated. The main theoretical approaches to the concept of “insurance company’s solvency” are observed. The author’s vision of insurer’s solvency based on critical analysis and synthesis of the existing opinions of national and foreign scientists is formulated. The required elements of insurer’s solvency are set and their difference from the concept of financial stability is outlined. The components of the insurer’s solvency analysis are determined as following: the analysis of the insurer’s obligations, the insurer’s resources analysis, the ratio of commitments and resources.
