Resume

The methods of calculation of middle class percentage by the profit indexes proposed by native and foreign researchers are outlined. According to these methods the comparative analysis is conducted and the percentage of middle class of society in the Carpathian economic region is calculated. Conclusions over the actuality of the use of the considered methods in the research of the middle class in Ukraine are made.
