Resume

This paper deals with the scientific and practical aspects of the population civil activity as a factor influencing the successful development and implementation of reforms that will bring the statehood of Ukraine to European standards. It has been found that in recent years according to the global socio-economic rankings Ukraine has occupied low positions that negatively affect its weight in the world market. It has been revealed that unsettled domestic political, social and economic contradictions that arise between government and citizens of the country is the main reason of the poor image of Ukraine. Human needs specified in the theory of Maslow have been compared with the need to show civil activity in certain social conditions. It has been emphasized that in recent years Ukrainians have been showing dissatisfaction because of unmet needs at all hierarchical levels, including primary needs, indicating a low development level of Ukrainian society. The reasons that may encourage and facilitate making decision on active citizenship of Ukrainian population have been studied. The results of questionnaire among Ukrainians and monitoring that has been conducted by scientific organizations have been researched thus clarifying the status and dynamics of civil activity. The factors affecting the change of population’s attitude toward participation in government have been determined. It has been found that more than half of Ukrainian citizens do not want to be involved in the work of NGOs due to lack of time, lack of faith in the possibility to influence the authorities and the futility of dialogue between the government and the public. It has been explained that as far as existing public activity of Ukraine is quite low, social technologies aimed at forming and strengthening of political culture of the nation and based on the scientific principles of social policy have to be used. It has been emphasized that during the implementation of any reforms by the authorities, Ukraine should realize that there won’t be any results without the development of civil activity. The features of the existing civil consciousness on a personal level have been determined and the fact that they reveal new opportunities for the consolidation and development of a mature nation has been proved.Рубрика: Соціальна політика
