The modern trends in the development of households in mountainous areas of the Carpathian region are reveals. On the basis of conducted analysis of the mountain territories households activity the term vision of development of these households is covered. The peculiarities of investment policy realization in mountain territories of Carpathian region are exposed. The dynamics of investment into the fixed assets from the point of view of mountain districts of four regions in Carpathians region is presented. The fact that it is necessary to take into account the existent pattern of production (agriculture, tourism and forestry) and that the basic attention should be paid to attraction of investments exactly in the abovementioned industries in these territories is stressed.
