The analysis of rural area population migration in Belarus is provided. Historical preconditions of migration of rural population are analyzed. The tendencies of migration processes in the country in the context of the theory of “migration passage” are presented. The stages of passages in Belarus are allocated. The dynamics, volumes and structure of migration in the rural areas of Belarus are elaborately studied and the characteristics of foreign migration are outlined. The mesoregional analysis of migration of rural population is conducted. Three groups of regions with the most intensity of departure are allocated. The main tendencies of migration processes on the microgeographical level are indicated.
