Prospects of the migration processes’ development under conditions of the global financial crisis are investigated. The influence of the crisis on migration in the world is observed by following four major interrelated areas: increasing unemployment; reducing the volume of transfers; deterioration of working conditions, increased discrimination and stigmatization of migrants; changes in policies of host and home countries. A little impact of “big recession” on the radical reduction of the number of migrants is found. The possible consequences of changes in global migration situation for Ukraine are set out.
