Influence of introduction of accumulation constituent of the state system of pension insurance has been investigated in Ukraine on the increase of the level of social protection of both persons of retirement age and the population of the country on the whole. Reformation of the system of the pension providing today is one of basic trends of perfection of the general system of social protection of population in Ukraine. Priority of granting to such meaningfulness exactly to pension reform is conditioned by many factors, in particular by such phenomena, as a senescence of population, enhanceable immigration and change of social values. A short review of certain stipulating factors of contemporaneity has been presented, the speed-up dynamics of display of which resulted in the necessity of cardinal changes, in particular in application of accumulation approaches in the field of pension insurance.
