The essence of Kyoto Protocol is considered. The short characteristic of forestry development in Ukraine is done. The advisability of stimulation of carbon dioxide absorption and implementation of the Kyoto mechanisms is shown. The level of attraction of the co-implementation projects and of the trade of greenhouse gases emission quotas in forestry is investigated. The main inconsistency between National Forest Policy and Kyoto demands is presented. The importance of forestry involvement into the struggle with climate change is emphasized.
