The analysis of application of economic adjustment instruments in the sphere of forest management is conducted. Conceptual principles of modernization of current market relations mechanism in forest management in accordance with basic directions of the balanced development of forestry, in particular increase of forest payments efficiency, reformation of forests management and forestry activity, development of efficient measures of forests maintenance, improvement of its use, transition of forest industry to the principles of sustainable development, are substantiated.
