The most peracute problems of rural population of Ukraine are considered. Employment and unemployment in rural territories of Mykolayiv region is analyzed. Basic factors, which result in sharpening of unemployment situation of rural population, are examined. Strategic directions of overcoming unemployment among rural population are outlined. The fact that green tourism is one of the most perspective directions of employment maintenance in the rural territories Mykolayiv region is substantiated.
