On the basis of the analysis works of foreign and Ukrainian scientists the relation between scientific activity and international competitiveness of economy has been investigated. The importance of investment support as a necessary circumstance of productive functioning of scientific sphere has been substantiated. The theoretical-methodological aspects and law regulation of scientific researches in Ukraine have been investigated. The modern state and dynamics of investments in Ukrainian scientific sphere based on statistical information have been analyzed. The recommendations concerning its activization have been given.
